What is the real meaning of the title?
I guess "Evil Dead Trap" is some Engrish by the distributor.

I don't know about 'Shiryo no wana" but I remember reading somewhere that the English/US title of Evil Dead Trap came about simply to try and cash in on the popularity of the Evil Dead films which were still at a peak at the time (Evil Dead 2 was released just a year earlier).

in Japanese "Shiryo" is a word like "caution" in English. "no" is a word the Japanese put between two nouns to indicate the words are linked, we don't have a word like it in English, we just put the word next to each other. So they would say "red no ball" while we would just say "red ball." "Wana" means trap. So the title would be something like "Trap of Caution"

Actually that's the wrong shiryo. Shiryo no Wana literally means 'Dead Soul's Trap' so the translated title isn't THAT much of a stretch.
