This inspired me.

This movie, like it was supposed to, inspired me to pick up the violin. I saw it and was MOVED it's truly amazing. I sort of learned to play the violin but dropped it unfortunately. Now I just saw this movie again and really regret letting this beautiful intrument go. I took out my old violin and it's all broken and the bridge is gone and I was so upset. I really love this movie, it's so inspirational and amazing. Did anyone else take up violin after seeing this movie?

Always giving parties to cover the silence.

I had already played the violin when the movie came out, but I just saw it again and it made me want to pick it up again (haven't played in about 2 years.)

I first saw this movie when I was in 4th grade and it most defiantely inspired me to pick up the violin. Unfortunately my school didn't start teaching students instrumental music until 5th grade so I asked my mom to enroll me in private lessons. When I finally got into 5th grade I was allowed to go into the 6th grade strings group because I had experience. However, my middle school didn't have an orchestra so I dropped it for awhile then joined the orchestra at my hhigh school in freshman year. But I was put in the lowest orchestra and had a horrible teacher which discouraged me quite a bit. I ended up quiting orchestra and joining the choir instead, which I'd originally dropped for orchestra.

But very recently I pulled out my violin (named Artemis) and began to play again. Ive never been a fantastic violinist but it felt really good to get back into playing. Then I decided to look up the movie that first inspired me to pick up violin in the first place. Its been years since Ive seen this movie and have spent about the last hour and a half trying find it on imdb.com and google (which was difficult because I couldnt remember very much about the plot or the cast). And now that I found it, its really cool to find out that other people were inspired to play an instrument by this movie too.

Now I have to go to Blockbuster and watch this movie again. =]

This honestly made me want to play violin. Meryl is soo convincing, and for some strange reason, sometimes sounds like Joan Cusack?? I don't know why or if it's just me. But it make me want to start, I'm old to be starting, at 16, but I want to, maybe my kid will want to play violin. Hopefully.
