I think its bad if a director only does one genre. SO that's why I think Wes Craven was a good choice. And he did a great job.

Wow! A dollar! Now I can quit stripping, go back to vet school, and save my sick pony!

I've seen some of it before and it is good. The inner-school dynamic is timeless because money is always needed.

The same way David Lynch can go from making some the wierdest movies ever made to making something so simple and sweet like "The straight Story"

Wes Craven was wanting to break away from the horror genre when he made this film. Even though he inevitably returned to the genre, he proved with "Music Of The Heart" that he, in fact, can make something other than horror, and can make it good.

Dogs_Play_Poker, I know how it can be to be partial to one particular genre, but to be a true fan of Wes Craven, you have to open your mind to the possibility that he can do something other than Freddy or Ghostface.

Actually, Wes Craven has (or had) a contract with whatever company makes his movies that stated he had to make one movie of THEIR choice that was low budget. He got stuck with this garbage. Sorry Wes.

reply

Actually no, that's bull$hit. Nice try.

Don't mock Wes for doing a film totally out of "his" genre! It's amazing that Wes took a risk and did quite well with the results. Though he will always be remembered for his horror franchises, this is a nice diversion piece. It reminds me of director, Bob Clark; known best for the "Porkys" films and "Black Christmas". He took a gamble with the family feature, "A Christmas Story" and succeeded. I'm sure if you ask Wes, he will have no regrets.

One of his early fimls was a porno. So he didn't start out as a horror movie man.

He's broken from straight horror again with "Red Eye".

Thanks Wes, but I'll stick with The Hills Have Eyes, Last House on the Left, and A Nightmare On Elm Street. Thanks anyway though.

I caught this movie on television. I'm shocked that it's directed by Wes Craven!

This really proves Wes can do something other than Horror.

If I can mix Code Lyoko, Marvel and DC together.
