Belle et Sebastien Never Shown in America?

Did BELLE ET SEBASTIEN air anywhere in America during the 1960's? Since it was dubbed into English and was broadcast in the United Kingdom it's a surprise it wasn't at least syndicated in the United States since this type of program was tremendously popular during that era (notably LASSIE).
