One of Cinemas best soundtracks

Asides from Goodbye Lenin, Princess Mononoke, Dancer in the Dark and The tales of Earthsea, Spirit has got to be one of the most amazing musical partnerships with any movie ever. Brilliant and uplifting.

I 100 % agree with you. I love the soundtrack. I think it's a little funny that it isn't traditional Western soundtrack or includes Native American folk music, but it's still good.

reply

It's doesn't contain traditional Western flavors because it sounds like everything else Zimmer does. My daughter is watching this and I was in the other room listening, and I came to IMDB because I thought to myself "this score has Zimmer audio prints all over it" and sure enough I was right. Massively repetitive with melodic material that doesn't stray far from other scores of his, very synth-y quality sound making even the strings sound artificial, and tons of overblown percussion.
I find it tiresome and generic but it's fitting enough for the film and tells the kids all of the appropriate places to be emotional.

Exactly! one of the best and most underrated soundtracks of all time.

Without a doubt, it is one of the best soundtracks ever. Bryan Adams and Hans Zimmer hit this one out of the ball park.

You are out of your mind.

Hans Zimmer's best score. Emotionally-charged, energetic, thematic, uplifting, sentimental music. It's up there with Lord of the Rings.

reply

Absolutely agree! The score inspires us to never give up!
