Cheryl Campbell: is this where her character plays violin/viola/cello?

Re: Cheryl Campbell - is this prog where her character plays violin/cello?: "Ruth Rendell 'Means of Evil' (1988)"

Does anyone know if this is the programme where Cheryl Campbell's character plays the violin/viola/cello, in a duet with the her on-screen lookalike daughter?

I have recently seen Cheryl Campbell as a new character on 'Casualty', & am convinced I remember seeing her in a detective series (1 episode) where she was required to play the instrument.

It's just bugging me that I can't remember which series it was! I had a sneaky feeling it was 'Inspector Morse'. But then of course it turns out - just to confuse the issue! - that she has also been in an episode of that . . . & 'Midsomer Murders' . . . & 'A Touch of Frost' . . . !

This Ruth Rendell mystery seems the closest prog i.e. a possible answer to my query. Her character in 'Means of Evil' has a red-haired daughter. The date (1988) is about right too. But there is no mention in any plot synopsis that I have found re this prog that mentions the musical angle (instead, this IMDB info states her character is a cook; maybe the musical angle was just a hobby for her character?).

I've Googled, of course!, but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Yes, you're right she plays an instrument in Means of Evil, her character is Corrine Last.

I was lucky enough years & years ago to have the complete VHS set of Inspector Wexford. It cost £90 back then but I've never seen it on DVD so I watch it on my old VHS machine now & then & that particular episode is one of my faves. Seems silly maybe to hang onto all those tapes but I'm not sorry!

Movie girl: If this helps, CHeryl was in MAigret, one of the first episodes. I think Midsomer Murders might be the one where she played the cello.
