What's with the Serious Tone

Ok, so what the hell is up with delivering all their scoop in a 9'OClock-primetime-news tone of voice.
Their news are nothing but gossip and internet talk, yet they make it sound like so important with their serious, matter of fact line delivery. It's annoying as hell and I can't stand it.
I've only seen a few of it throughout the years, I avoid it as much as I can, but the channel that airs it in my country always shows its previews on every commercial.
