Is it 'average' to air a commercial with a segment not really on the shw

I had never seen this show before.

TiVo'd it this past Monday, as the Friday before they aired a commercial for the Monday episode showing some kind of cool-looking ride where you sit in a sling shot between two tall rocks.

However, that segment was NOT in fact in the Monday episode.

Is that par for the course for this show?
