Damn you UNIVERSAL!!!!!!!

I have not seen this show (yet) but I know I will probobly like it, but thats not what this is about. I just read that the show did not bomb and infact did pretty well. Season 1 apparently had a cliffhanger so obviously with that in mind along with good viewer responses, it's obvious a second season would be made, right? NO!!! Universal Studios apparently bought out Polygraph (the company) as they were writing the season 2 episodes. Normally that shouldn't have been a problem but Universal CANCELLED IT!!!!!! It was cancelled for no reason at all. The producers of the show tried to get the show back and when Universal still said no, they begged for a TV-movie to tie up loose end so the show wouldn't have an unanswered ending. They still turned their backs on the idea. Wow Universal, you really suck. Does anybody know why Universal hated the idea of a second season or even a TV movie of this show?

Universal must have really despised the show to do it as it was done. Makes no sense to cancel a show that was doing well and needed a resolution.

The trouble with her is that she's here today and here tomorrow.

I'm almost guessing it was because it was such a violent show, and had a dark/vigilante style. It was fairly intense for being aired Sunday mornings. I used to watch it when I was about 11 (now 20).

I don't think so. Highlander (also a syndicated show) was pretty dark, intense and violent and lasted for years. Also for you this show aired Sunday morning. For me it aired on Friday nights around 11pm which was perfect for a show like this.

Just curious, what region do you live in. I'm in the Central region of the USA...I guess I don't know what time it was on in the average town. Either way, The Crow is a fairly obscure show, so I'm not so surprised it got ditched so fast.

I'm central as well. Chicago, IL to be exact. I think it aired at different times and different days in different cities. Sydicated shows back in the day used to do that a lot.

Ahh, I guess my local time slot was more than less the reason I thought of it the way I did. The show isn't much worse than shows like NYPD Blue, especially language-wise. So sad...I only have 2 episodes left of the series to watch, then I will be out of Crow material I haven't seen.

Universal are idiots...period! Where I lived the show aired 4 times, even Highlander aired twice. The Crow was shown late Saturday night on the cbs affiliate, always at 11pm then it was repeated on the same channel at around 2am after the late night movie. It would air again on late Sunday nights on the Fox affiliate at midnight, then again at 4am. Highlander would air at Saturday and Sunday mornings.

But Universal does stupid things. they're also known for taking director's movies and changing them around into something that was not supposed to be.

One of the reason that I heard was that they didn't want to deal with someone elses' show, unlike Hercules and Xena they were involved since the beginning. I was not a happy camper, I waited three agaonizing months for nothing, no resolution. I hate when that happens to a show. Fox had really good shows in Brimstone, John Doe, and Firefly. They were all cancelled before their storylines could run there course.

I agree with you in that alot of the good shows were canned before their time, like the collector, the crow swth, brimstone, profit, the adventures of sinbad, hell, I even liked kindred the embraced but that was canceled due to mark frankel's death..

You listed some of my favorite shows! I just discovered "The Collector" last year but I was a fan of "The Crow:STH" since it first came out (I absolutely LOVED "The Crow" when it first came out in 1994. I hate it when good shows get cancelled, esp. when there needs to be some sort of resolution like with this one.
