Thunderbirds Aren't Slow
Indeed. Instead of making a Crow television series, these folks made "Crow: Texas Ranger." I bet James O'Barr seethed.
If you ask me, it should have been directed by someone like Joanen Vasquez. At least he has a flair for the televised gothic.
You know if they would have just got a new crow it could have been better. instead they had to go with the original and make it nothing like him.
probably one of the best examples is how he goes about telling bpeople hes the crow. In the movie, he was reluctant to tell even Sarah and at first only dropepd hints... All of a sudden in the show he's running around "Hey guys! I'm Eric Draven! back from the dead! hey guys!? look! Eric Draven here!"

Although the Crow was the best movie ever made i think that the tv series was ok. Think about it if you came back from the dead with supernatural powers to exact revenge and fight justice would you let the whole world know? i would run around going "look hello i am here back from the dead, go on shoot me and i will prove it". And i act like a smart alec. It would be fun :D.
Back to the topic (if my stupidity hasn't alreay put you off the rest of this post). The Crow is a gothic, forebodding story of love, hate, vengeance, paranormal and crime. This show didn't follow the original movie, but this was an interesting way of looking at such a gothic tale.
If they would have done a new story with Dacoscos, I think the series could have worked out pretty good. I mean think about it, not every damn crow atory has to be set at night.
shareall of you make a good point in your own way. yes the series was not as good as the movie but it was still good. and he did go around too much announcing himself but still since it was an onrunning story hed have to announce it somewhat ya know. well thats all i gots to say
shareNo tv series is in any way spiriting the movie because the way they are written are far from logorythmic. I saw like 6 eps before FOX shut it off. i agree with several points about. "jonen Vasques", and of coarse a new story. I hate Hearing people copy good works, and Use it to bring something to life. It works for the Crow only cause of the Dire need to have Justice. I hope to see more movies, and Pray if they ever try The Crow (TV series) again they bring a new story and a not so sober writter. The Slapstick jokes are fine but too many and Bruce Campbell with Use his Bomb-Stick on you!

>>You're exactly right. I almost cried during the episode where Eric sues his former bandmates for recording his songs. I mean, it's just so bad in every possible way! The man goes to court saying, like you put it, "Hey guys! I'm Eric Draven! back from the dead! hey guys!? look! Eric Draven here!" <<
You're leaving a key part of the story out. Draven was possessed and acting solely on the impulses from the Id part of his brain. Kind of an interesting idea when you consider that fact that you have a deceased character who's still alive.
In many ways the TV series was vastly superior to any of the films, and the pilot episode did an excellent job of retelling (and expanding upon) the original story. Let's all be honest here- the only reason that film did as well as it ultimately did and resonates with people is because of what happened to Brandon Lee. There's this whole mythos that's been built up around it that really is just plain silly. "The best movie ever made" CrazyToaster? Hardly. Honestly, it really wasn't that good of a film. It held your attention to a point, but there's not much past that. It's very sad that the lead actor died during the production, but let's stop making it into something it isn't nor ever was intended to be.
Well i now agree. Its not the "best movie ever made" but it was number one on my list at the time.
shareDo not be swayed by the evil that is not a Crow fan. Do you even realize that when Brandon signed on to do the Crow, he signed on for three movies with the Crow title? It says so on the DVDs. Had Brandon not died, Eric Draven would have continued to resurrect. Plus, they had to make the series PG because of the time of day it aired. Parents would have had fits if the series stayed true to the comic and original movie. Children would think that it was okay to kill for revenge. Also, Mark's Eric couldn't crossover because one victim died of his injuries. It was to appeal to a certain audience and send a message. The Crow movies are not meant to send that same message.
CRWGRL for LIFE!!!!
OK, so who's the evil person that's not a Crow fan? Me?
Like I said, I thought the series was vastly superior to the films, and I have no problem with the fact that they had to TV-PG it. They were still good stories, and visually the episodes (and storytelling) were very dark. Great stuff that was unfortunately not given the chance it deserved by a lot of Crow fans. Not all Crow fans mind you, but a lot of them.
Oh my god, you made my day. Funniest thing I've read today
shareI was confused when they had the episode that pulled the face paint Crow as a different spirit then Eric Draven. Also the last episode where they Pull the Crow out from the grave and fights Eric Draven. The series was entertaining martial arts action movie with a guy dressed Gothic like, but didn't really have the feel of The Crow.
A man can change his stars
It's good it "lost the point" since The Crow was pretty dumb in the first place. StH was so much better than the movies (and comic) that it's not even funny.
