This film was NOT SHOT IN IRELAND!!!

Don't want to be loosin my temper here but this film was shot in the Isle of Man. I'm from the island and can promise you that it was filmed here. This is just in responce to the remarks about the 'beautiful Irish landscape' I keep hearing - its not in Ireland!

Really, when the dust all settles you, being from the Isle of Man should be happy that the countryside on your little island could be mistaken for Ireland. Anyone who thought the film was actually shot in Ireland didn't see the opening or closing credits as is therefore happy in thier ignorance. How about the lush countryside of the American south shot in Cold Mountain? Can anyone say Romania or was it the Czech Republic (does it really matter?) Shooting one place and calling it another isn't new grumpy. Let me guess, you're going to tell me Titanic wasn't shot somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean now. PS the Isle of Man has one of the most interesting flags i have every seen. Ta.

reply

Very true. The landscape is easily confused between Isle Of Man and Ireland. Wasn't it filmed in Craognich? (sorry about the incorrect spelling) Near the Sound in Isle Of Man. I was there nearly 3 years ago and visited most of the Island.

reply

Pity, might have been a better film if it was actually filmed in Ireland, instead of it being the Plastic Paddy Leprechaun Lottery debacle that it is.

Point proved!

reply

What, you wanna cookie, an internet pat on the back, praise for your astute powers of observation? You think calling "Troll" actually means something, like it's a bad thing, like I give a flying feck?

I'm calling "Captain Obvious Moron" with a side order of "Get some English lessons granddad - it's 'point proven' not 'point proved', thick as a ditch full of bricks aincha".

Now where's my cookie?

reply

Thank you so much for the English lesson.

Point proven, again!

Oh yes, why did you delete your previous post?

reply

Wow and what a point, it's obviously still 1997 in your head.

reply

Not the first time you have been called that is it? Why did you delete that post again?

reply

Because it's not the first time I've come across a clueless twat on the internetz. Have you anything else to say apart from "troll" or is that the highlight of your existence?

reply

Go away little Troll feeding time is now over.

reply

Who's the fool, the "troll" or the idiot who keeps feeding it? Hmm sport? Have a think about that one genius and get back to me when your IQ reaches room temperature.

reply

wow! cool, a canadian manx! So awesome! where are you living in Canada? I am in NS right now, and have never been to isle of man, but would love to visit! email me at [email protected] if you want to chat more! Fancy hearing from another Canadian Manx!

reply

did you get my email snoopy? i sent 2 and i dont think they worked.

reply

I am 100% American and knew this was filmed on the (absolutely gorgeous) Isle of Man. There is no mistaking it for Ireland- not that I have anything against Ireland. I'm pretty sure it says on the DVD cover, in the opening credits, and during the movie that they are on the Isle.

reply

Parts of outstanding Scottish film 'On a Clear Day' were also shot on the Isle of Man. The film companies get tax incentives for going there - all comes down to money!

reply

And Star Wars wasn't filmed on Tattooine. Your point?

reply

Tattooine is not a real place, Ireland is.

"Have you ever danced with a refrigerator?"

reply

[deleted]

It sort of is, not planet wise, but it is a city named, Tataouine....

I think the OP is upset that everyone is complimenting on the beauty of the Irish countryside, when it's actually the Manx countryside.

Give me love , give me love , give me peace on earth.

The Isle of Man? There was a tv show here about a guys family from there and he claimed to be the King of the Isle of Man.

Is this the same place?
