Ned signed the lottery ticket then died?

The guy was sitting in a chair with the tv on, saw that he had won, got a pen and signed it and then sat back down and died? A little hard to believe. But besides that, a very entertaining movie. Makes me want to go out and have a few pints of Guiness.

He likely signed the ticket long before the numbers were drawn. People do that, just to be on the safe side. Of course, if he doesn't sign it, the movie is about 5 minutes long.

I thought about that too. He must have signed it immediately but Michael must have had to practice his signature but it wasn't mentioned.

I was thinking it was a big plot hole them needing to pretend that he was still alive. Why did they need to prove it was him collecting the lotto win.

Then halfway through they dropped that he had signed the back.

A little dotted line on the back of the ticket nobody signs.

But an old man stuck in his ways may signature every ticket out of habit.

Maybe there's some rule that says the person needs to collect directly, and not heirs, etc.
