David Shire vs Bernard Herrmann

So this was on TV one afternoon and I wasn't terribly interested but then I noticed that the score was by David Shire so I left the set on and just listened to it while I wasorking. Not one of his best scores but I thought it had some beautiful passages, and he had clearly borrowed some ideas from Herrmann.
What do you think?
