Script vs. film

I have the printed script version and wonder why so many little things are different compared to the film. The film on the DVD is 92 minutes long but IMDB says its running time is 96 minutes. Now why is that?
Does anyone know if there are different DVD versions available?
Thanks for any help or info.

I think the published script is the play, not the film. Filmed versions of plays typically differ from the stage version.

There's usually a 2-6 minute difference between versions of films and it can depend on anything from brief background/prop scenes that were there for colour/mood only, a few seconds extra on several close ups during the film, or an extra song played through a slightly slower running end credit.

Not to mention half the infomation put on IMDB is given from viewers and it could be vaguely wrong. I need to take a look at the running time of my version next time I play it.

The DVD runs at 25 frames a second whereas the IMDb running time will be from the 35mm film run time which is 24 frame per second. Over time this time adds up. The Blu-ray should have the 24 run time too 'cause that's what most Blu-rays run at for films. Hope this helps. :-)
