Half cup (possible spoilers)

This is George's habitual response to the offer of tea; he'll have a half cup. It's funny and poignant. But it's occurred to me that it's symbolic too of ... a life half lived between Pakistan and England. A life half lived as a migrant. A migrant who never takes more than half, his deserving fare.

I give my respect to those who have earned it; to everyone else, I'm civil.
