Army of Darkness reference?

During the scene when the evil wall of souls first comes out, when one of the demons leaves the wall, his face is stretched out. He looks a lot like Ash in Army of Darkness, when one of the books in the graveyard sucks him in and he escapes. Anyone else think this?

That was clearly an Army of Darkness reference, which is when Ash gets his face sucked into the Book of Dead. A lot of the camera shots scream Evil Dead. So that's very astute of you to point that out.
