So glad that I grew up with this show

I was born in 89 so I was 3 when LCPA first premiered in September 1992 (yes, the same year as Barney but I much prefer the former). I know Shari had actually been performing as Lamb Chop since the early 60s, when my mom was a little kid. Looking back at some episodes on Youtube I can't believe how clever this show was, like Shari doing little mind teasers and tricks. I remember one where she poked a needle through a banana with the peel still on, basically pre-slicing it. I don't know if any other preschool shows come close to the magic of Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop. Used to watch it all the time as a little bugger, I think it came on at maybe 12 noon, just in time for lunch.

Up until I was maybe 13, I totally forgot about the Song That Doesn't End. One day in 7th grade my math teacher started singing it randomly and I was like "where have I heard it before?" Then she said it was from Lamb Chop and I was like "oohhhhh yeah I remember!" Also, when my grandma and grandpa sold their old house, I found a VHS tape called "Don't Wake your Mom!" It was dated 1989 so they must have got it for my sister who was 2-3 at the time. I took it home and ran it in my VCR (this was like, 2003 or 2004). Not sure what happened to the tape, I think I recently saw it in a storage tote in the closet. I also remember at the end of the tape they showed the Song. Thought they made that specifically for the 1992 TV series. Guess not.

It's very sad how Shari passed away at the age of 65 due to cancer. I wish her daughter Mallory would do a new show!

I was a young adult and liked the show.

I know her daughter has been performing with Lamb Chop but I think she's just doing the comedy circuits. Not sure if she plans to take it big yet.
