What Do You Think Happened Next for Each of the Characters?

What do you think happened next for Van, Ben, Dubbie, Sylvia, etc.?

I think Ben would have graduated from the University of Maryland but spent half his time looking forward to his reunion to see Sylvia again. I'm not sure what he'd do as a career, probably a writer.

I think Sylvia would end up married to a guy from Morehouse. I'm sure she'd like him, but I doubt she'd truly love him the way she probably could have loved Ben. I could see her as a lawyer, maybe getting involved behind the scenes of the civil rights movement.

Dubbie would marry someone from her own social circles but probably not love him. She and her husband would have "an understanding" like her parents do. She'd spend the rest of her life in a big house in Baltimore with her two perfect kids, drinking her afternoons away.

Not sure about Van. I don't see him marrying for anything but true love. Also, no idea what he would do career-wise.
