I'm from the Baltimore area, i was born in Baltimore and was raised in the Baltimore suburbs. I have no inhareted memories of Baltimore's past because my parents, grandparent, ect. were not from baltimore. No no real baltimore natives in my family but I always feel right at home when I see the City and I am filled with warmth when see Baltimore's old sence of charm like its brike rowhouses, hens the nickname "Charm City". The things I love about Baltimore, the inner harbor, The Baltimore Museaum of Art, The Walter's Art Museaum, The Visionary Art Museaum The Baltimore Zoo (featured in the movie), Charel's Street and the Charel's Theater, BSO theater, The Lyric Opera House, Mt. Vernon and the Washington Monument. The Baltimore Eqarium and The Baltimore Science Center, Little Italy "Chiperelli's or how ever you spell it is GOOD!!", Canton, Hamdon, Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Well not exactly from Baltimore, Ellicott City.

I watch the Wire from time to time.

Have you seen a show on HBO called The Block about drug addicts in Baltimore.

reply

I think you mean 'the corner'. It's good. Not as good as the Wire, but still good.

I'm was born and raised in Canton, but these days all of Baltimore City is considered Canton. I actually remember when the American Can Company made cans. Things have changed so much, the city I knew as a kid is gone. With all the new people moving in from out of town, it has kind of lost it's identity. No one says 'hon anymore, no one sports a beehive anymore, and if you tell someone you are going down the Avenue, they think you mean that place in White Marsh....

Grew up in Pikesville and now live in Ellicott City. My parents hung out at the old Hilltop Diner and I hung out at the "Plaza". I still spend a lot of time in northwest Baltimore.

i live out west now, but went to college @ TSU, now TU, and spent a lot of time in the city. Balt is a city of neighborhoods, including Liberty Heights, and they all have their own unique charm, hence the nickname "Charm City". the inner harbor area is fun as is fell's point, especially if you like to pub crawl. little italy is a blast, and great food is found in every corner of the city. it is a city where old school and new world work well together, Lexington Market is a great example. i still have many friends in the area and am always hearing stories about the old hangouts. it has a great location also. 2 hrs to Phila, 1 hr to DC, 2 hrs to ocean, 2 hrs and change to mountains, 45 mins to Annapolis, lots of history in Balt with Fort McHenry, Edgar Allen Poe and Babe Ruth houses. if you have never been it is worth a trip.
