Nate at the end (Spoilers)

Do you think Nate died in prison? In Ben's voice over, he mentions remembering the last time he hugged his Dad before he died. I always thought Nate probably died in prison, but now I realize it's kind of ambiguous. Maybe he lived long enough to be released after 10 years or less?
