Greek Culture Slam.... Hmmm

All the names in the movie (Eleni Podaras, Gina Mitrou), as well as the music and dancing at the wedding, and the way she picks up the baby and says "Opa!" are GREEK. This can't be coincidence. What I don't get is WHY they were portrayed as Greek, when the original family was obviously Eastern European/Serbian from the names of the real people (Jelka Pesic, Alexandra Ignatova). That really bothers me. Anyone else notice this? I mean, they could have made them any race, if for some reason they had a problem with making then what they actually are... Why GREEK???
