The Movie was made in early 2000 for a late fall 2000 release. However, Leto and Blair were the only really big names in the movie and Gyllenhaal was a rising star and the movie was changed from wide to limited release. In August of 2000, a bad test screening put the movie on the shelf, where it remained until April of '01 when a good test screening showed up and the movie was set for a limited release in fall of '01 after some more editing. However, after Donnie Darko did bad at the box office and Leto fell out of the spotlight after Fight Club and Requiem, the movie was put back on the shelf. In early '02, after the movie leaked on the internet and got a small fan base, the movie was released Direct-to-DVD.
