What was up with that soft core porn scene smack in the middle of this movie? Where a Chinese guy is dancing with a naked, apparently drugged caucasian woman and they basically do it? It had to be something out of a different movie, spliced in there to spice things up, I guess. But what the hey?
shareYeah I know that was so weird. I had to rewind to make sure I did't miss something. It wasn't connected in anyway to the rest of the film. A classic kung fu movie I think. What we saw of Chiba was great, and sue Shiomi was absolutely stunning.

I've been watching other Sonny Chiba movies to see if I can spot the characters somewhere but no luck yet. What was the director (not) thinking.
I love Chiba, by the way. His over-acting reminds me of Toshiro Mifune in "Drunken Angel" where he takes forever to die. I think it was TM's first movie with Kirosawa and K just let the camera run and let the actor chew it up.
That scene was indeed both gratuitous and hilarious.

I watched the Japanese version (never seen the US one) and there was no such scene.
So some US distributor must have spliced it in.
