Martin Short steels the show...in a good way

martin short is great in this movie, who agrees?

"great" and "martin short" should never be used in the same sentence. Unless you are saying "Martin Short is a great big douche".

I think he does...maybe not steals it but he is defintitely one of the most memorable things about it. I also think that Miranda Richardson's the Queen of Hearts is extremely memorable! "OWF WITH HIS HEAD!" Hilarious and... " DO YOU PLAY CROQUET?" For some reason the Duchess and The Cheshire Cat also sticks out in my head... as does the race they have not long after she enter Wonderland...I can't remember what it's called though... the one where they all cheat...that scene really makes me laugh!!

You Go Glen Co-Co!

i think, even if you dont like martin short...
if you read the book, you gotta admit he NAILED the role of the mad hatter in this movie.

I agree, I think he was the star although Miranda Richardson was amazing too! I can't imagine what behind the scenes would have been like with them... haha

He was brilliant.

Courage, men! We've not sunk before, and we'll not sink now!

He plays the Hatter as more flamboyantly effeminate than mad. In fact, in this version he and the March Hare behave practically like a gay couple.

This is not my signature. This is IMDb's automatic translation of my signature.

I always loved the Mad Hatter in this version, even when I watched this as a child. Now I still think he steals the show. I will watch Martin Short's part in this film over and over again. I think it is great.
I also do love the Walrus and the Carptenter but the Mad Hatter bit is my favourite.
