When Vidocq was in the laboratory and was walking up the stairs, what was all that stuff hanging from the ceiling and dripping down the rods? I had no idea and assumed it was skin from the girls the alchemist captured. However it didn't really look like skin. Any ideas?

It was the skin from the victims. That's how skin looks like. I'm sure it wasn't actual skin from really dead persons but it was skin.
shareIt was skin. The Alchamist would hang up the virgins and then drain them of their blood which was why all the skins were hanging by the ceiling.
shareI figured that all those hanging vessels contained their hearts and that was where the beating sound was coming from when Vidocq first entered the lab.
