Do Mexicans usually fight so passionately?

I didn't expect to enjoy this film, since it's fairly old and also Mexican! But despite the sensitive issues that the plot touches, the blend of comedy and drama was almost perfect. I enjoyed the fights the most - so comical and passionate! Do Mexicans argue this much? High-pitched angry voices, hand gestures, pushes, grabs, cries, laughs - they argued in so many ways to the point where they become public! They kinda remind me of Italians! 
