Not a bad way to satisfy your 80s b movie nostalgia, but it's no EvilDead

This movie's slightly above your average trashy cheap 80s b movie, however, it kind of wastes Beth Toussaint (Linda Hamilton's wonderful lookalike) and the ending is kind of anticlimactic to the point of almost being unintentionally funny (although some people will like it better than your usual slasher ending).

However, the atmosphere is pretty cool (eerie instead of scary), the forest cabin by the creek location was chosen well, the sound department did what they could with what they had (and the soundtrack features a couple of cool unknown rock songs from the era), the setup is something Carpenter or Raimi could have worked with and the acting isn't all that bad. There's also a nice sex scene for Beth Toussaint fans (if they blink when slashing of another girl occurs during that).

Of course, you'll be more prone to liking this movie if you're a fan of Beth or/and 80s b movie filmmaking. Others will probably be bored by it.
