Dates confusion

Can anyone explain why the gaps between these (magnificent) programmes are not precisely seven years? For instance, the first was made in 1964, the second in 1970, and 28 Up was made in 1985 and 35 Up in 1991. Is it because they are made at different times of the year, or is transmission delayed/brought forward after filming? Any help appreciated, it's been bugging me!

It's all dependent on when the movie actually comes out. For instance, I believe the first was done in 1963, but not shown until 1964. 1970 would then be correct, as would 1977 for 21 Up. 28 Up is only a year off, which would make 35 Up fall into line. It makes sense that a little bit of time might be needed in order to make the final product

Most of the participants have birthdates of 1956 or 1957. So taping and production could vary by birthdates.
