the fate of the young male student in 'a Killer in Every Corner'

If the young male student was killed in that padded room, as he appeared to have been, who killed him?

reply

The Professor locked the student in that room with a psychopathic killer in order to monitor his reactions as he killed.

The insane man was the journalist staying at the professor's residence, only he wasn't really a journalist but a psychopathic killer who the professor controlled via the administration of drugs. When the professor witheld his daily quota the man reverted to type and became a crazed killer once again.

Love the ending of this episode - the freeze frame as she escapes and runs out of the front door.

I've just recently watched it and it is a Great episode, one of my favourites so far...

A few things to point out though, The Professor purposfully witholds Slattery/Aldridge's drugs because he want's him to kill the student so he can monitor him etc... It's later we find out that Slattery had substituted his drugs for water without the Professor knowing.

And of course at the end of the proper version, the British ATV version, there is NO freeze frame, she just runs off screen and the titles role, though I will admit the freeze frame does add a certain effect... even though most of the US titles leave me cold.
