the smelly socks?

I just watched the first episode, "Lady Killer". When Paul kills his friend, he does so by taking off one of his socks, wrapping a sharp object in it, and lashing the guy right across the mouth. I though, oh man, not only does the guy die, but he has to taste some sock on the way out!
