Oh my God (spoiler)

I am crying so hard at the "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" scene with Paul's death. This is excellent filmmaking and music. Can't say any more.
Edit:
Well, now I have to say more. Just saw the scene with Smokey Robinson singing the beautiful song "Really Gonna Miss You." Definitely a tearjerker! And the no-audience ending with "My Girl." Whoa....what a rollercoaster ride.

I always cry when Smokey sings that song! It's so sad and beautiful.

"Papa was a Rolling Stone" is excellent. The only problem I had was the way Paul's death is intercut with the lyrics. It makes him look like a ne'er do well loser like the character in the song. On the other hand it was beautifully filmed. It's just that Paul Williams was the creative force behind the group (as Otis said) and I wish his ending had not been so sad and depressing.

I only saw this movie once, back in 1998. I never forgot the "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" scene. Depressing and dark it is.
