Can't really understand the R rating; there is no violence, not much 'bad' language, nothing really offensive and even the nudity is toned down by means of strategically placed red crosses, at least in the copy I've seen.
I would have said the film was pretty tame and enjoyable.

MPAA rating for this film is R for "Adult Language, Sexual Situations, Nudity".

I can't really see why.
In Finland this film is rated "S", which means it's allowed to all ages.
