Ben was fair enough performed in this movie...

...but he may not be the best as both Alec and Harrison.

Ben did portrayed well as a weak noviced single newly-entered CIA analyst Jack Ryan in this movie.

Finally, of course, this movie was not filmed right before The Hunt Of The Red October, which is positively convincing enough.

Except Jack Ryan was not a weak and novice CIA Analyst in Sum of All Fears.
He was the Deputy Director of Central Intelligence (The #2 person in the CIA right below the Director)

Alright, he was weak Deputy director CIA, but, before that, he was a weak novice type of subworker. This weak novice may not have been mentioned ahead of time, first in novels, then in movies.

The movie was alright with good reviews and criticism, even if you think it screwed, at the same time.

You still make zero sense and you are completely wrong.

How dare you mention my sense as both zero and wrong, CGSailor!

How dare I?

Easy.
Because they are.

This is the only one I never seen just don't like the dbag playing JR..The new Movie with Chris was good tho

reply

Ben played the beginning JR in this movie and that movie recieved three stars and good criticism.

Chris played JR in the other new JR movie, which recieved bad criticism and either one or two stars.

I prefer this movie with Ben, rather than the other one with Chris, unfortunately, no offense, IMO.

reply

You are spot on

reply

At the beginning of the movie, the director doesn't even know who Ryan is

reply

Entertaining movie, despite Ben Afleck playing his usual dumb role

Darkness lies an inch ahead

reply

That's because they want to show and prove how Jack Ryan started out too shy and too noviced as he entered CIA. This is also right before The Hunt Of Red October followed this movie, that's all.

reply

Incorrect.

This film completely trashes the timeline.
Ryan is in his late 40's to early 50's by Sum of All Fears. He is the Deputy Director of the CIA (the #2 person in the whole CIA) Already has 3 kids. and has been married for years.

The Hunt For Red October takes place many many years BEFORE The Sum of All Fears.

Patriot Games is where Ryan first goes to work full time for the CIA as an Analyst. Prior to that, he was just a consultant that wrote a paper for them.

It was his saving the Royal Family that led to his being posted to London as the CIA liaison.

Red October is next and Jack is stationed in London because of the events in Patriot Games. Then Clear and Present Danger.
Sum of all Fears takes place shortly after Clear and Present Danger.

Again... this film ADAPTATION totally trashes the timeline and the story.
