Worst of the series

Thus is easily the worst of the jack Ryan films.

Worst of those actually based on a Tom Clancy Novel.
The worst of all was created from whole cloth, not even based on a Clancy Novel.
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

They turn Jack Ryan into some super action spy like an American James Bond.
Which is a slap in the face to Tom Clancy who despised and ridiculed the James Bond franchise.

I couldn't bring myself to even go see that one.

Go Navy!

Ben Halfwit is a terrible actor and Jack Ryan.

Considering how great the book is, the movie is a disgrace.

I agree. They barely touched the surface on the story of this great book. Looked like the screenplay was based on the cliff notes. But then again if they hadn't the movie would have been about ten hours long.

There are films that manage to gather the essence of a book (or series) and fit it into a movie's runtime. Okay, they tend to be longer movies, but it's still workable. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, for example, is a complex, political spy thriller and I thought the film managed to bring the book to life in a great way. Now, of course it was still missing a lot of elements from the book, but there's no reason it couldn't be done with Clancy's work.
