ugh.or anyone else would have been better. She ruined this movie. I can't stand her acting in this movie. The only thing i enjoyed was Adrien. Other than that it just wasn't worth it..
I vote for Melissa in this role! Julia Stiles is... Well, she just would treat it like most of the roles she's played, and that wouldn't be right for this movie.
Melissa seems like a regular girl, unlike a number of other "teen queens". There have been too many of those playing average high school girls.
The post of lepiduspuella was directed to the OP. You can tell because of the times of her post and yours.
lepiduspuella means friendly* girl, but to maintain concordance of gender, would actually be lepidapuella. Since it is a name, can actually be anything.
* or agreeable, charming, delightful, nice, amusing, witty
wow, thanks! especially for telling the 'non-crack smoker' what an idiot he is
and i've actually known for sometime that the latin of my screen name is incorrect (i made it in middle school and never studied the language or anything, so it's just a testament to my youthful follies in self-teaching now), but it is nice to encounter people who know and appreciate latin :-)
I loved her in this part and I'm not a fan. I thought she did cheery chirpy school spirit girl pretty well. I loved the scene with Chase and his goth friends and her comment about them admitting to liking Alanis before she went platinum. MJH can do comedy, but I think Julia Stiles can only do comedy when she's playing the sarcastic type and that wouldn't work in this film.

If Stiles had done this movie...would she have done 10 Things I Hate About You?? She might not have wanted to do 2 teen movies...and then what would have happened? She might have been ok, but I liked Melissa Joan Hart in this - she isn't exactly the most versatile actress, but she's entertaining :)
let's just say this. MJH is not a very talented actress.... But this role is fairly undemanding, so she's passable in this film (and quite cute). Besides, the cheesy acting and dialogue make this movie tons better, I think! (But I just have a thing for entertainingly corny movies.)
