How did Dee Vine get her nickname?

I saw this movie as a kid and I remember not understanding how she got her name and why Chase called her Bo.... It's on TV now and I got to the scene where she's explaining her name and even now I have no idea what she's talking about. So if you get it explain why did chase call her Bo? What is her real name? What did her being over weight Have to do with any of it?

I'm not crazy M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for forty years.

Chase must have remembered her from younger days when kids called her "Bo" as in "Bo-Vine". She explained that "when you are 40 pounds overweight and your last name is Vine, it doesn't take kids long to latch on to it". Kids can be cruel - the word "bovine" refers to cows, so since she said she used to be overweight, it sounds like it was a cruel nickname that kids used.

At the end of the movie when she is introduced as Miss Time Zone at the dance, her name was presented as "Judy Vine". So my assumption would be that when she was making over herself by losing weight, etc, she started calling herself "Dee" (last syllable of Judy), and combined with her last name of Vine, it seemed like a reference to the word "Divine" which is much more complimentary.
