Bruce Springsteen song at the end

I love that song and it's the perfect closing song to this film, as the screen fades to black. I think the lyrics are just perfect for the ending and the relationship of the three main characters, especially given that Springsteen wrote it especially for the film and has a close working relationship with John Sayles dating back to the early 80s. Great song in its own right too.

Lift Me Up

I don't need your answered prayers
Or the chains your lover wears
I don't need your rings of gold
Or the secrets that you hold

Lift me up, darling
Lift me up and I'll fall with you lift me up
Let your love lift me up

I don't need your sacred vow
Or the promise tomorrow brings
Veiled behind the morning clouds
I'll take the fate the daylight brings
Lift me up, darling
Lift me up and I'll fall with you lift me up
Let your love lift me up

When the morning bright
Lifts away this night
In the light above
We will find our love, we will find our love

Your skin, your hand upon my neck
This skin, your fingers on my skin
This kiss, this heartbeat, this breath
This heart, this heart, this wilderness

Lift me up, darling
Lift me up and I'll fall with you lift me up
Let your love lift me up
Lift me up, darling
Lift me up and I'll fall with you lift me up
Let your love lift me up

Super Springsteen does it again. How could anyone not like The Boss? Go Bruce Go!

I am not a Springsteen fan. I never have been. I think he's a great guy, but his music just doesn't appeal to me. Well, except for ' Lift Me Up '. I remember sitting in the theater, just frozen by the great ending. Then the screen went black and this song started playing and tears started streaming down my face. I still don't care for Bruce's music. Well, except for.....you know what. Thanks Bruce and thanks John for another piece of great work.

Thanks for posting the lyrics!

I really wanted silence at the end of the film, so i was a little annoyed this came up during the credits, it broke the incredible spell the marvellous ending had created.
But, well, that's okay. Nice song.

Yes, and the entire musical score is very haunting. I'm listening to it right now.
