maybe - if you got a feeling (is that the right word?) for mardi gras + new orleans; i´ve got not and so i´m only disappointed.

but it´s good to know that it was not TOTAL *beep* what paul mercurio did ...

ALL LIFE IS EQUAL

Besides the question of whether the movie is good or not, I have to strongly disagree that it "captur[ed] the wonders of mardi gras"; the Mardi Gras scenes look like they were filmed either on a soundstage and/or in some other location - the IMDB filming locations says that New Orleans was only the location for the second unit (there are a few shots of the city but none, I think, with the main characters in them), and it lists the other location as Luxembourg! Which makes since, because some of the street scenes that are supposed to be in the French Quarter have curved streets, some of which slope down, like the reall old cities in Europe, but unlike the Quarter which is mostly a very regular grid configuration and which is ALL flat. And the mansion was definitely NOT in Louisiana, and looked more like old mansions in Europe. Also everyone is wearing pretty generic costumes (pirate, vampire, egyptian queen, gypsie, etc., etc.) that you can get in any costume shop, but here in N.O. during Mardi Gras most of us make our own costumes and they are anything BUT generic. AND the leaves have changed color out in the countryside where the mansion is, which has already happened by the time Mardi Gras rolls around in February or March. But that's enough nitpicking - I say through it and agree that its roughly an average Skinemax/Red Shoe Diaries type of softporn movie, but even the interesting ending doesn't redeem it.
