What tedious movie.

I've actually always loved all of the actors in this movie, right down to Debbie Mazer. I just watched it for the first time yesterday on OWN, only because I was sitting with someone who is ill and it was on. While it seemed creative and dynamic in the sense that these two people obviously had a powerful connection which was impeded by their respective afflictions, I couldn't get past how repetetive the whole storyline became after a while. How many times did I have zo watch Lukas Haas angrily storm out of Sidney Portier's office in a huff? Or...how many times did we have to see the late and wonderful Ms. Murphy spout like Dr. Seuss and freak if the other person didn't?

A wonderful FANTASTIC group of actors, a great cast of characters...but to me, a storyline that fell flat. Disappointed. :(

Agreed... Also I have seen Brittany Murphy play SO MANY mentally disturbed people over the years, her resume was FULL of psychotic characters (which she had talent for) but I have seen it too many times to take it seriously. Good movie, I love Sidney Portier and even like Lukas when he was little (He's rather odd now) but this movie seemed as if it was trying too hard to be good. Too "after school special" for my liking but an okay movie...
