I can take depressing movies, but this one made me want to slit my wrists. Seriously nihilistic.

I didn't get that out of the movie at all. If that's your interpretation, I think that says more about you than the film.

Anyone here mentions Hotel California dies before the first line clears his lips.

It's not true.
Most of the characters wanted to live in the moment of truth despite their suffering.
It's not a nihilistic movie it's pro life.
