How did they all get home?

How did they all get home with overstayed visas?

reply

By becoming spoiled ugly American children once again.

I think only a few were American. The rest were European.

I'd like to see a remake. The movie was horrible and didn't do the book justice. I think Alex Garland would agree.

Granted. The Americans would clue the others in on how to act:::cry, take a fit, cry, beg for mom, cry, assert American rights even on home soil. Deny everything that happened while you were on that "Beach"---or, at least your part in it. Act just a little resentful even though it could cost you a trip home. Kids never learn.

I have to confess, Pa. I watch the damn thing every time I come across it on the cable. The shark scene is good and I like the head woman, I forget her name. She's good in this. Her command of everything is good to watch.

I dislike the part when he gets sent out into the woods and he plays the computer game, virtually. It embarrassing. Why, why did they do that?

I seen it many times as well. Its kind of nostalgic since it came out when I was in high school. I'd try to explain that woods scene since it was more clear in the book, but its been so long since I've read it. Another qualm of mine, I wish Robert Carlyle had more screen time. He was probably the most interesting character in the movie.

I wondered that also. That's what's so cool about movies like this is there's so much left to ponder afterwards. If many or all of them had expired visas as you mentioned, were left to more less assume that their respective consulates would have somehow assisted them.
