Sal if you haven't noticed was a good person and so her priority was the secret of the beach. Once she realized that Richard was a threat to it because of him unintentionally bringing the americans close to it. She thought of a way to exclude him and alienate him. what better way that to have one of the closest things keeping him from being excluded his girlfriend turn against him and kick him out? Once he had that happened to him he had no one to care for him or back him up now that he had her boyfriend hate him because of the going behind his back cheating. After that it would've been very easy to have him feel unwanted and unsafe so he's only option was to leave or probably worst. Sal obviously didnt care about him and just saw him as a vibrator. Richard is to blame for continously falling to her traps and not being wiser and harder to resist. She tell him fix my bed and fucks him. We never see him struggle, negotiate, or try to fight her off.

What Sal said to him was "warm the bed". Which basically means "get in the bed and wait for me". Since it was coming off the back of a conversation about keeping the fact that Richard had let the Americans know about the map just between the two of them, it's hardly difficult to work out what she was implying. The sex basically WAS the negotiation: if Richard fucked her, she wouldn't tell anyone on the island that he let slip about the map and he'd be able to stay. Richard was well aware that it was a deal (his narration as they're heading back to the island says as much), and he's the one that decided it was worth it to be able to stay on the island.

As for why Sal told everyone, she was clearly pissed off at him for making a copy of the map and then lying to her about it. She probably rationalised it that he'd broken the terms of their deal first by lying to her. Also it's a way to isolate him and make people mistrust him. From what we see, Richard became pretty popular very quickly when he arrived to the beach so it's possible Sal was concerned that banishing him to the hill wouldn't be enough to stop people from wanting to find out his side of the story - he could then tell them that Sal had essentially blackmailed him which would make them suspicious of her. By her getting the story out first, she was in almost complete control of what people knew of the situation and they'd go on following her.

She wanted to lash out at Richard. And it's left to our imaginations, but it's entirely possible if Richard and Sal did the raw dog in Koh Phan Jang that he could have Impregnated Sal. And being the one who was so against returning to society from they're ideal utopia, was possibly against going the abortion route. So if that were the case she would have to explain it somehow unless she was up for trying to lie about it and try to say it wasn't Richards baby, but someone else's perhaps Bugs.
