Went to where this was filmed today

Gotta say it was pretty incredible. Even though it was absolutely packed full of people you can't deny the natural beauty of the place. The perfectly white sand and the torquise waters. Swimming and snorkeling. It was amazing. Once I'm home from this 3 month thailand trip the first movie I'm watching again is this one!

That's awesome. Is it like a resort or what ?

It's a bay on an island in Thailand. It is a group of islands, mostly very small ones, called the Phi Phi Islands. You can take a boat to the particular island and the particular bay where this was filmed.

That's pretty darn cool. Good for you that you were able to do that.

You lucky bastard! Seeing that place is on my to-do list before I die! You just fulfilled my dream! I hope you had the novel with you too. I hope you enjoyed your holiday! Safe trip back home!

Have they repaired the beach back to its natural state?

funny this thread since bbc news just had a segment on how tourism was hurting the environment of this place so it were to be closed down from the first of june to september 2018, and ironically i just got a reply to my last post on this board highlighting how the moviemaker treated this location, as the bbc segment included clips from this movie i thought something was off with the soundtrack, just to realise as i was watching the actual movie it's suppose to be like that, i mean they get so goofy with film making camera shots and such in modern movies that if you were watching an old movie you'd think something was wrong, i had never even heard of this movie before, but the location is like the one of "the man with the golden gun", it also reminds me of a flick with the italian film duo terence hill and bud spencer where the moviemakers wouldn't reveal the location of the island where it was shot, funny how it's even pointed out in the description of this movie where it was filmed, it was surprising how much of this was shot at night, well actually my first question was as with many new movies, why it was shot at all.

on quest for cake couldnt find,
on streets starved and cold grounds,
bakery closed she welcomed inside,
to teashop at hour of late,
as night were about to go to waste,
in her warm embrace atmosphere saved,
shared new tea and surprised with a ton of fruitcake.

I’ve been there too. It was gorgeous.

There are places like this in the Caribbean, if that makes seeing something like this easier. Many excursions visit these type of scenic beaches, so they aren't overrun with tourists all the time.
