Mediocre

The Brits loves to make movies, which are set in Italy, and I own quite a few movof them. "Where Angels Fear to Tread", "Enchanted April", "Wings of the Dove", "Tea with Mussolini" and "A Month by the Lake" just to name a few.

I sat down with had high hopes to enjoy this 4 x 50 minutes mini-series, but it could NOT live up to the above mentioned titles.

The plot is murky and unresolved. The cast is totally out of place, and they act terrible - even Gielgud is below his standard.

Yes, is dated in terms of writing as well as the acting goes. However, I have seen movies from 1989 way better than this that deals with the same themes. Not Recommended.

For a start its not a movie but a tv series and Gielgud gave a wonderful performance especially as he was playing against type in this drama.
