Episode order on the DVDs

I'd never seen this show before so I was really looking forward to watching it. The weird order of the episodes has me a bit puzzled though...
There I was, happily watching away, when I started the 4th episode. I won't say exactly what happened just in case it's a spoiler for someone but the 4th episode on the discs (that I got anyway )was Y2K: Total System Failure which is actually the 18th episode of the show! Characters in the episode made absolutely no sense because of events that I hadn't seen yet which are in the 10th episode (11 on the discs) called Harvest. Really confusing!
Sorry if my post is even more confusing - just didn't want to say exactly what had me confused .
