Anyone find the original opening to Blue's Clues just a tiny bit creepy?

I mean, look at this. We start out with a fade in from black (in later years, 1999-2002, there was just a jarring cut from black that is startling) to a pile of books (one of the books being a Corduroy one) with a Blues Clues book right smack in the middle of the pile. Accompanying this a weird noise that is indescribable because I'm not exactly sure how to describe it. We begin to zoom in on the Blue's Clues book. An echoey version of the Blue's Clues theme that wouldn't be so eerie-sounding if it wasn't played in this kind of environment plays, followed by a few guitar notes. Suddenly the book opens up, and everything quickly goes from creepy to all happy. My daughters felt a little uneasy when they saw it, and I understand why. Anyone agree?

I never really felt that as a child, but I see what you mean now. I wonder if it affected me psychologically on a subconscious level. Maybe this is why I imagine killing people who make me mad.

reply

No.... I don't think that's the reason you would imagine something like that.

I feel a very warm, fuzzy feeling from the opening theme. I started playing this show when I babysit after years of not watching it. Makes me feel nostalgic.

reply

No. I still don't see how it is creepy.

reply

Not really. If anything it got me excited when it came on. I wasn't easy to scare in those days.

reply

Looks like you got way too into it.
