WE WANT STEVE BACK ! STEVE, COME BACK !!!!

My now 10 year old grew up with Steve. I was fortunate to record many episodes during that time to tie her over.

I now have a 2 year old son, and watching Joe SUCKS!! I am 32 and would still rather Steve than Joe.

Thank goodness for recording devices!! I now play the "Steve" versions when my 2 year old wants "Blues Clues".

I am about to post a "want it now" on eBay for "Steve" versions of Blues Clues, finding them in the stores are far and few between!!!!

STEVE, COME BACK!!!! WE MOTHERS KNOW WHAT'S GOOD FOR OUR KIDS :-)

Hey, I think many Mothers can agree that Steve is "cute" ::giggling::

I'm surprised as a 32yr old mother the only word that comes to mind when describing the show without Steve is that it "sucks". It sounds to me like your kids like the show and you're the one complaining about the host. Steve is in a band and enjoying life and that you should be happy about. Joe is great and my kids love him. Even my older one that grew up with Steve.

i'm also 13, and i used to wtach the show ALL THE TIME when Steve was there. really, i was in, liek, fourth grade still watching Blues Clues. the show has GREATLY declined in quality ever since Steve left to persue his rock star career. HE BELONGS ON NICK JR.!!!

I'm 14 (gonna b 15 Aug 10 :) and I really miss Steve. He was just so funny but if he's happy.

I'm 13 and Joe is horrible! That little weasel stole steves Job!Steve come back!

reply

Joe didn't "steal" Steve's job. He just didn't want to do it anymore. And from what I hear he's much happier now and doing really well as a musician (what he wanted to do originally anyway, according to his bios). I know if I was on a kid's show, there would be only so many years of it I could do before I needed to try something else - and I have a kid myself! Repetition is just too much - that's why studies show the average American has 7 different careers in their lifetime.

I don't see any problem with Joe anyway - he seems to be a relatively good actor, and I think he sings better than Steve did for those kinds of songs anyway (and I've been taking and giving choral lessons for years). My son likes him - doesn't see the difference between them.

Blues Clues has officially been cancelled, but I am sure it will live forever in reruns.

Note the show has not been cancelled but Blue's Clue Live tour is.

According to tv tome:

Blue's Clues is not currently in production has been cancelled. However, you can catch its spin-off show Blue's Room airing every so often on Nick Jr and repeats of the program continue as described above.

So yes, It is officially cancelled, as I stated above!!

Check this out --> http://www.nickjr.com/shows/blue/index.jhtml

This is the website about Blue's Clues on Nickjr.com, the channel that actually owns and creates Blue's Clues. According to the site, they are getting ready to celebrate 10 years of the show - so I'm relatively sure the show's still on.

Not true, I've seen a few episodes with Joe on them.

reply

Ugh, Steve was so much better. There's just something about Joe (what's his real name? Donovan?) that just bugs me. My little brother's Blue's Clues DVDs feature two Joe episodes and two Steve episodes, though, if you're really desparate for Steve eps. =)

reply

I'm glad you all agree!

I looked up Donavan and it was noting but a bunch of girls saying how much they though he was cute.

I was surprised because Steve did a really good job and it was wierd seeing ppl post that they hate it when re-runs of Steve are on...Joe bugs me. He raises his eyebrows way too much and he tries to hard.

Probably a nice guy though.

reply

My 2 year old started watching with Joe then we started Tivoing with Steve also. My son does not care who is on the TV. He enjoys the singing and he enjoys Blue.

I think Steve was a better actor but I can't blame him for wanting to move on to other things. He is getting older and might want to do something else other then a childrens program. So for the person who claimed that Joe took Steve's job, no not at all. Steve quit and wanted to move on. Can you really blame him?

I do like Joe and give him a lot of credit for stepping in here as taking over in a roll is a very hard thing to do. As is evident here, most people will just put others down and not give them a chance.

I think Blue's Clues started to go down hill when they switched to Blue's Room which is terrible. That is something I will never understand. Why did they mess with a formula that was working?

I also do not think the show is in production anymore. There have been no new episodes in I believe a year. Everything is a repeat.

'Steve' made a good host, but our household thinks that 'Joe' is much better.

'Joe' behaves as if he is much younger than 'Steve' which, to me, seems more appropriate to the show. 'Joe's acting is much more animated and his facial expressions seem more in sync with what's going on in the environment around him and his singing is much better.

The special episodes they did where 'Steve' says goodbye and turns things over to his little brother 'Joe' made a great transition.

And that was 2002.

Times change and people move on. Now it appears as if 'Joe' and 'Blue' are moving on too. Thanks for the memories!

We can always watch nearly a decade of reruns (the majority of which will be with 'Steve') and re-visit 'Blue' anytime we want.

I hated Joe at first as well as the original poster but my son likes him just the same and there is nothing wrong with him. He is really pretty good.

You can buy "Classic clues" and if you look closely some of the ones with Blue's Room on the front such as Hug Day and Snacktime Playdate, have 2 Steve episodes, 1 Joe ep and 1 Blue's room ep.

The hardest thing in this world... is to live in it.

reply

My 2 year old doesn't seem to care but Steve has more vocal talent. Joe's eyebrows bug me. He looks like a cartoon himself.

Both are on Noggin/Tivo now. Noggin seems to jump back and forth between the Steve & Joe episodes.

I'm 18 and I love Steve Burns. He's fabulous, whether he's doing Blue's Clues or not. If you need a Steve fix, check out his AMAZING album, "Songs for Dustmites." He got the guys from the Flaming Lips to help him and it's wicked good. If you like the Flaming Lips, you'll definitely like the album.

Regular Nickelodeon still shows Steve re-runs, btw. I don't have Noggin or anything, but I still tape Steve re-runs off tv for my own...personal viewing. ahem. yeah.

Anyway, get his album. he's awesome.
