What is up with the guy with the light in his ring? What kind of gimmick is that?

I wanted David Suzuki to bust in and kick his ass for not using energy-efficient bulbs. THAT would have been awesome.

Well.. It's a gimmick alright. But I thought it was actually pretty clever. Haven't seen such in other movies at least.
