$2,000 or $200,000?

In the version I watched, when Ngok Lo is explaining to Fu that he answered the old man's advertisment in the paper, he says that the old guy sold his old WWII notes for $2000. When the guy in charge of the hunt shows Eiji that Ngok Lo is responsible, he says that the old man deposited $200,000 into his account the day after the murder. Did anyone else pick up on this or is it just a typo on the subtitles on my copy?

Also, how did Eiji trace the old guy. It says they were trying to trace the bank note, but how the hell could they trace the serial number of a WWII bank note?
