Just Wondering...

Why didn't they cast other Filipinos?

It's like the filipinos they casted are.. morena/morenos. It's like they didn't consider the fact that there are full Fil.s out there that are, more likely seemingly... err... chinita.

And why do they seem that going ghetto is the only "group" that Fil-Ams belong?

I just don't really appreciate how they stereotyped it.

I just wasted money on this movie, but never the less, it was entertaining. For about a minute or two. (The maranao dance part is what I only liked watching.)

This movie was about a family and their extended family and friends in suburban San Francisco in the late 80s. Back then, most of the fil-am demographic were either thug wannabes or roll like Ben did (the "white people way"). I don't think they stereotyped it like they're the "only" type of Filipinos. You also forget this movie was about Ben, who WASNT like that.

Seems more like you're just too sensitive and the type of person everyone has to be extremely PC around. Get over yourself and lighten up. It's just a movie. An actually good movie. To me, it definitely was worth what I spent on the DVD.
